14th July 2007. Pete Waterman was the special guest performing the opening ceremony at the new site. Over 30 locos were to take part in the grand cavalcade during the afternoon, and fortunately the weather was on our side!
My photos have been put into two albums. The first album shows the two trains for invited guests, followed by the grand cavalcade of locos. The second album shows a variety of trains running during the day, some carrying passengers, others with a good selection of freight wagons.
A steam launch was also in action on the lake. There were other attractions, such as miniature traction engines etc. but my photos concentrate on the railway. This set of photos show the locos passing through the station after the ceremony, the rest are in the following album – part 2.
